Ringwood Town is another example of a very old team in the Wessex League. They formed in 1879 and were originally know as Ringwood Hornets, then Ringwood Comrades, before adopting the current name in 1946.
First joining the Wessex League from Hampshire League in 2004, Ringwood have competed in Wessex League Division One since 2008. The Long Lane ground, known as Ringwood Community Hub, hosts dozens of teams and is associated with AFC Bournemouth too. The Cherries helped develop the facilities and it is the official home for AFC Bournemouth Women and the Girls Academy.
