Following promotion to the Wessex Premier League in 2024/25 as Division One champions, New Milton found life difficult at the higher level and were relegated in 2025/26.
The current New Milton club had previously been members of the Wessex Premier from 2007/08 until relegation in 2012/13. They missed out on promotion via the play-offs in 2022/23 before their title triumph two years later.
The original New Milton club was formed in 1898, changing their name to New Milton Town in 1993, playing mostly in the Hampshire League.
A controversial merger with AFC Lymington in 1998 saw a new club formed called Lymington and New Milton. The new club were immediately successful winning the Wessex League in 1998-99 and being runners up for the next two seasons. Another Wessex title in 2004/05 saw them promoted to the Isthmian League, moving to the Southern League the following year. However they then chose to return to the Wessex League and reverted back to the New Milton Town name.
Their best cup performance came in 2021/22 when they reached the fourth round of the FA Vase before losing a local derby to Brockenhurst.
New Milton Town (now known as the Brickmakers) play at Fawcett’s Field. The ground has a cantilever stand seating 262 on one side in a 1500 capacity.
To reach Fawcett’s Field (post code BH25 6QB) take the A35 from Lyndhurst to Christchurch turning left after 10 miles at the Cat and Fiddle pub, taking the A337 to New Milton at the next roundabout. Or take the X1 bus from New Milton to the House Martin pub and walk back along Christchurch Road. You can visit the club website here.
