Amesbury Town have led a yo-yo existence in the Wessex League over the last ten years after originally joining the Wessex in 2004/05.
The Wiltshire side were mid-table regulars in Division One until a fourth place finish in 2014/15 was followed by promotion to the Wessex Premier Division as runners-up the following year. The Blues were relegated two years later but bounced back immediately in 2018/19 as Division One runners up.
After the Covid break, Amesbury were relegated back to Division One in 2021/22 and then finished second from bottom, returning to the Wiltshire Premier League. They won the county league at the first attempt to go back to the Wessex League. Two years later Amesbury were moved laterally to the Western League but remained in the Wessex on appeal.
The club were formed as Amesbury in 1904 and played in the Salisbury and District, Wilshire and Hampshire leagues before joining the Wessex. They changed their name to Amesbury Town in 1984.
Their best FA Vase runs were in 1979-80 and 2025-26 when they reached the third round.
The Blues Bonnymead Park ground is on the western edge of the town, part of a wider recreation ground. It has a seated stand on one side and a canopy in front of the clubhouse, offering some covered standing at one end.
