Lymington Town FC, known as The Linnets, was founded in 1876 as Lymington Football Club.  They have played at the same ground all that time - The Sports Ground, Lymington.  
Founder members of The Wessex League in 1986, some merging and re-emerging happened over the next few years, and they had a brief stint in the Southern League in 2021/22.  Best ever Wessex seasons saw them crowned Division Two champions in 2004/05, and League Cup Winners in 2006/07
