Bashley were the dominant force in the early years of the Wessex League, winning the title in the first three seasons.
The ambitious New Forest club then won the Southern League Southern Division at the first attempt. Two years later they finished fourth in the Southern League Premier, just one step below the Conference.
The Bash were relegated two years later and subsequently moved between the Southern and Isthmian leagues due to restructuring.
Bashley were Southern League Division One South and West champions in 2006/07 and narrowly missed out on promotion the following year, losing in the play-offs. Two relegations in three years meant they were back in the Wessex League by 2016. Promotion as runners up in 2021/22 led to a four-year stay back in the Southern League, but Bashley returned to the Wessex for 2026/27.
The club was formed in 1947 and played in the Bournemouth and Hampshire Leagues before joining the Wessex. They had a magnificent run in the FA Vase in 1987/88, reaching the semi finals before losing to Emley. 1994/95 saw the Bash reach the first round proper of the FA Cup where they beat Chesham United to earn a home 2nd round tie with Division Two Swansea City, losing narrowly 1-0.
Their Bashley Road ground was improved in the eighties and has one of the biggest capacities in the Wessex League (4,250). The record attendance is 3,500 for the Emley semi-final.
The ground has a 250-seat stand on one side, flanked by two metal terraces. There are two small steps of terracing on the opposite side.
