Hythe and Dibden, based on the edge of the New Forest, have been members of the Wessex League since 2004/05.
After fourteen seasons in Wessex Division One, they achieved their best position of third in 2018/19. However two abandoned seasons due to Covid meant that they were not promoted to the Wessex Premier until 2021/22. They were reprieved from relegation in their first season and have since then finished in the bottom half of the table.
The club was formed in 1902 and competed in the Hampshire League from 1947 until 1962, They then played at Southampton level for the next 32 years. A return to the Hampshire League in 1994 lasted ten years until they joined the newly-formed Wessex Division Two.
In 2019/20 and 2025/26 Hythe and Dibden beat two Wessex Premier sides enroute to the FA Cup qualifying round, their best progress to date. Their best FA Vase run came in 2025/26 when they reached the fourth round, losing only on penalties to Hallen, who went on to be beaten by AFC Stoneham in the semi-finals.
The club moved to their current Claypits home in 2014. The ground has a 200-seater covered stand on one side and covered standing for a similar number on the opposite side.
To reach the ground use postcode SO45 5TN. Take the A326 towards Fawley, then take the first left at the Dibden roundabout, turning right just before the Shell filling station. By bus take the number 9 from Southampton to the Tesco in Dibden, walk back to the roundabout then left into Claypits Lane. The club website isĀ here.
